Would liver disease because of weight be considered more urgent than other health issues?
I have been diagnosed with liver disease and the only way to repair it is to lose weight. I have fought my weight all my life so I am scared.
My doctor suggested weight loss surgery, so I am going to get him to refer me to a weight loss surgeon in Victoria (BC). However, the wait list I have been told is over three years, and the longer I stay overweight the more damage is being done to my liver.
Victoria (BC) Bariatric clinic states they don't do surgery first come first served. Instead, they treat in order of severity of health condition.
Would liver disease because of weight be considered more urgent than other health issues?
