My energy levels are through the roof after bariatric surgery!

by Waning Woman
(Dallas, TX)

Fat people are constantly tired. I know I was.

Not because it's a character flaw of some sort, but carrying around extra weight makes you tired. Dealing with the physical and the emotional baggage of obesity wears you out to the point that you have little, if anything, left over.
It wasn't until after my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy did I realize just how much the weight was bearing down on my. As I started to peel back the layers of fat an entirely different person emerged.

I didn't have any underlying health issues before surgery, but I know I was well on my way to having them. While my blood sugar and blood pressure may have been okay at the time, my joints were a mess! My knees groaned, my back hurt all the time, even standing up for too long was hell on my body.

It's like I have the energy of a twenty something now. I went to see a live band last weekend and I danced for hours and hours. It was a truly incredible feeling. I'm more social, more outgoing, just a much happier person with more than 140 pounds lost.
