Dave's Lap Band Surgery

by Dave
(Reading, Pa USA)

I have been a truck driver for 27 years. I have lived in a truck, but I'm now home every day with a local driving job. Like many on this site I have had a weight issue for as long as I can remember, even as a kid.

I've tried many many diets including the fhen fhen plan. I lost weight on that one. But when it was taken off the market I gained the weight back and some.

I started lap band procedure back in January of 2011. I weighed in at 418 lbs. I thought, "this is it." So I started the weight management program through my local hospital.

I started weight lose before starting the program and entered the program at 405 lbs. I did the classes and pre-exams . I had my band surgery on Sept 26, weighing 353 lbs. I'm now one week post-op and my weight is 343 lbs. I'm starting stage 2 with pureed foods.(Oct 3 2011)

I have a long road ahead, which I'm looking forward to. So far I've gained more energy and I sleep a lot less. My clothing is just hanging off now. So I guess I will have get some new stuff or try some old clothing from years past!

More to come!!
